About Michael [MIC] Phillips

What’s up family! I’m Michael Phillips from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Most people know me as “Mic” It was the most clever name I could come up with… “Michael, microphone, Mike, mic” … You get it? Never mind. I’m a poet every minute of every day. When I was introduced to open mic, I immediately resonated with the raw vulnerability displayed in spoken word and was hooked ever since. Throughout this journey I’ve come to realize words are powerful. Not everyone will relate but the people who need it will. That’s more than enough for me.
